Grease Management Certification
The UK market has no standards for effective grease management equipment to demonstrate performance and effectiveness. A grease management stand is required to reduce the costs of drainage blockages and fatbergs. A standard should be designed and developed to test the flow rate, performance removal or retention of fats, oils and grease for effective grease management equipment.
Gareth O''Neill has vast experience of the grease management industry and having assessed the performance of grease equipment, believes that there is a need for the UK industry to develop a standard similar to PDI-G101 and ASME 3 & 4. All grease removal or trapping equipment should be performance rated to demonstrate to customers and local water companies of the effectiveness to reduce recurring ongoing and costly blockages.
